• Question: can serious diseases such as cancer and diabetes be completely cured

      A very good question. Scientists have made great strides to treat/cure cancers for example breast cancer but not so much for lung cancer. Diabetes is treated by daily injections of insulin.

      I think scientific research will eventually cure these diseases. Some organisation like the Irish Cancer Society have a motto “we won’t give up until cancer does”.

      Scientists are committed to finding the cure.

    I agree with Thomas, cancer survival has hugely increased in the last 40 years.
    However, cancer cells can be determined to survive and they can change themselves to become resistant to drugs so we need to keep researching for new cures to overcome the drug resistance that they develop.
