• Question: If people didn't pollute the environment or put things on fire would Global Warming be a thing?

      Global warming would still be happening, just not at the alarming rate that it is happening now

      Tricky question, because we have no way of testing this.

      However, historical data shows that although humans were around for thousands of years global average temperatures did not change in response to global warming causing events until after we had the industrial revolutions aka we started to burns lots and lots of fossil fuel, so it probably would not have happened.

      unfortunately yes, even if we stopped burning fossil fuels now, a lot of damage has already been done, the blanket of green house gases is already surrounding our planet and making it warmer. If all pollution stopped today then we might see global temperatures increase by only 1.5 degrees before the end of the century instead of by more than 3 degrees.
