This question has made me think….thanks Jasmine.

I think I love research because I always want to learn new things and understand why things happen. I was lucky that there was really interesting research happening in the university I studied in (DCU) and I once I got a taste of the research I was hooked.

Cancer research is a bit like doing a huge jigsaw. Scientists put the pieces together bit by bit and eventually a picture emerges that allows us to see what went wrong in the cancer cell. As the jigsaw comes together, new ways of treating cancer become clear. It is very slow but rewarding work.
